A rare chub

It’s always cool to see new critters during a REEF survey.  Especially if you have no idea what it is!  I always take a camera with me just in case I find one of those critters.  Unfortunately I have not spotted anything interesting, BUT my friend Gavin is a great underwater photographer and he spotted a rare fish.  This picture stumped him as well as a few other notable fish nerds.  Thankfully, with all of our combined efforts, we solved the mystery.  Below is Gavin’s picture of the rare Bluestriped Chub (Sectator ocyurus).   As always, if you need help identifying something you saw in the water, please don’t hesitate to contact us 🙂
