Early Saturday morning, Mike and I took several volunteers on a REEF survey in the Waikīkī MLCD. Most of us finished the survey as quickly as we could since the water was very chilly! I only took a few photos and I captured a picture of a fish I can not identify.
I will give extra points to the person who can identify the fish first!
- Large Mound Coral, most likely Porites evermanni.
- Mystery Fish
- Lace Coral, Pocillopora damicornis
- Hawaiian Dascyllus, Dascyllus albisella
- Cone Shell, Conus spp.
- Pale-Rockboring Urchin, Echinometra mathaei
- Moorish Idol, Zanclus cornutus
- Male Spotted Boxfish, Ostracion meleagris
- Whitespine Surgeonfish, Acanthurus dussumieri
- Fish ID Class
I think the mystery fish might be Acanthurus blochii
I think the mystery fish is a ringtail surgeonfish also!
